Sherman W. Jones III is one of the Markovich Grover founders, and serves as a director and senior partner. He attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies and Florida State University for law school. In law school, Sherman received two Academic Excellence Book Awards (Florida Workers’ Compensation and Statistical Inference in Law).

Sherman’s practice focuses on the defense of claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA). Sherman has litigated numerous DBA claims before the Office of Administrative Law Judges (OALJ) and on appeal before the Benefits Review Board (BRB) and the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Sherman has been practicing law in the DBA sector for over 10 years. He has prior experience in handling complex civil litigation involving products liability, wrongful death defense, premises liability, and personal injury defense. Additionally, Sherman has participated in arbitration pursuant to the CPR Institutes.

Sherman has been a speaker at several DBA industry events, including the Annual Longshore Conference. He has been recognized on Super Lawyers lists every year since 2021 and is a member of the DOL-JBA Joint Bar Association.

Sherman is licensed to practice law in Florida.
