Kristy Straub is a partner at Markovich Grover. She advanced from associate to shareholder at the founders’ legacy firm, earning a strong reputation for her meticulous attention to detail and skill in managing complex claims involving multiple parties, injuries, and incidents. Kristy is dedicated to defending employers and insurance carriers against claims arising under the Defense Base Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.

Before attending law school, Kristy had careers as a writer-analyst and urban planner. She managed a technical writing team for a Fortune 500 corporation, where she developed documentation standards, tested firmware, and ensured the firmware complied with regulatory requirements. As a planner, she conducted development feasibility studies and analyzed land uses, transportation demands, and demographic data. She also wrote project and grant proposals to secure government contracts and funding for non-profit organizations.

With her extensive background and analytical expertise, Kristy enjoys evaluating exposure, developing litigation and resolution strategies, negotiating settlements, and helping her clients achieve favorable decisions from the Office of Administrative Law Judges.

Kristy earned her Master of Science from the University of Texas at Austin and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law.

Kristy is licensed to practice law in Texas.
