Kelly F. Walsh

Senior Partner  

Kelly Walsh is a senior partner at Markovich Grover, based in New Orleans, where the firm is planning to open an additional office. She has nearly 20 years of experience and worked alongside the Markovich Grover founders at their legacy firm for 12 years, both as an associate and shareholder. She has tried cases before the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Administrative Law Judge (OALJ), Louisiana Office of Workers’ Compensation, and in both state and federal courts. She has drafted briefs and argued appeals at the Louisiana Appellate Courts, Department of Labor Benefits Review Board, and the U.S. Fifth Circuit and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal. Kelly has presented at both the Annual Longshore Conference and an LMS Continuing Education Seminar.

Kelly graduated cum laude from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. She currently serves as president of the Millsaps Alumni Association Board. Kelly received her Doctor of Jurisprudence and Bachelor of Civil Law from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. While there, she was president of the Legal Association of Women, executive director of programming for the Student Bar Association, secretary of the Trial Advocacy Board, and staff writer for the The Civilian. She participated in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers mock trial competition and the Ira S. Flory trial competition. She also studied at the Universite Jean Moulin III in Lyon, France. 

Kelly’s main practice areas include the Defense Base Act, the Longshore and Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act, and the Louisiana Workers Compensation Act. She also has extensive experience in insurance coverage defense and general civil litigation.  She has not only been lead counsel in formal hearings before the OALJ, but managed a large docket of cases, including those with complex legal topics.

Kelly is licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
