Keanu J. Velez is an associate at Markovich Grover. Keanu helps employers and insurers navigate claims under the Defense Base Act (DBA). He brings a broad background in litigation and corporate matters, giving him the tools to guide clients through complex disputes with clarity and focus. Keanu received his Bachelor of Science from Binghamton University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Brooklyn Law School, where he attended evening classes while gaining hands-on experience at the Legal Aid Society and later at Morgan Stanley. He also interned for the Honorable Andra Masley in the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division. During law school, he competed in alternative dispute resolution competitions and later coached teams, sharpening his advocacy and negotiation skills.

Following law school, Keanu practiced at a boutique securities firm, where he worked across capital markets, commercial disputes, and white-collar defense matters. He now applies that experience at Markovich Grover, focusing on the defense of DBA claims.
