Alexandra (Sasha) Grover
Vice President, Director & Senior Partner
Alexandra (Sasha) Grover serves as vice president, director, and senior partner at Markovich Grover, where she oversees a diverse case inventory in response to Defense Base Act (DBA) and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA) claims. While she enjoys focusing on this niche area of law, Sasha has also gained valuable experience in a broad range of civil practice areas.
Sasha has a long track record of building robust defenses and finding creative solutions to complex issues for her clients. She has significant trial and appellate experience–having presented arguments on behalf of employers and carriers at numerous proceedings before the Office of Administrative Law Judges and Benefits Review Board. She has also presented a case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, resulting in a favorable decision for her client. The thought process and strategy she has developed through her trial experience is further evident in the chapter she co-authored in The Longshore Textbook, Sixth Ed., “Trial: Witnesses & Discovery.”
While she is prepared to litigate when necessary, Sasha appreciates the benefit of pretrial claim resolution. To that end, she collaborated years ago with other industry leaders to develop a mass mediation structure in response to the increasing need for efficiency in a volume docket. This structure has since become an industry-wide standard.
Prior to Markovich Grover, Sasha held a steering role in Brown Sims’ largest practice group, where she led a team of approximately 40 attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants. From 2021-2024, she was recognized on the Super Lawyers “Texas Rising Stars List.”
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of St. Thomas, Sasha was named “Outstanding Graduate in Political Science” for her class. She then continued her education at South Texas College of Law Houston where she graduated cum laude. It was there that she served as a Langdell Scholar for Civil Procedure and co-editor in chief of the Construction Law Journal, a semi-annual publication by the State Bar of Texas with assistance from students at South Texas College of Law. She was also awarded Dean’s Merit and Howard Warren Scholarships for law school.
Sasha’s previous experience includes two internships in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division. During her time in office with the Honorable Judge David Hittner, Sasha focused on drafting final orders and orally presenting them for approval. She had the opportunity to engage in numerous discussions regarding evidentiary rulings and trial tactics with Judge Hittner. While serving Magistrate Judge Calvin Botley, Sasha primarily spent her time drafting final orders on Social Security cases.
Sasha is admitted to practice in Texas and New York. She is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In addition to her practice, she enjoys mentoring rising attorneys and is frequently asked to speak at industry events and in-house seminars.
Alexandra (Sasha) Grover has spent the last 15 years building robust defenses and finding creative solutions to complex issues for her clients. She is also a co-creator of a mass mediation structure developed in response to the increasing need for efficiency in a volume docket.
