Monica Fekete Markovich
President, Director & Senior Partner
As president, director, and senior partner at Markovich Grover, Monica Fekete Markovich ardently believes in a forward-thinking law firm model; one that fosters performance and growth through innovation and employee satisfaction. Monica takes particular pride in mentoring attorneys as they grow into both strategic advocates and wise business leaders.
Prior to forming Markovich Grover, Monica practiced law for over thirty years with Brown, Sims, Wise, and White and its successor firm Brown Sims, P.C., serving on the Board of Directors for her last two decades at that firm.
Monica’s trial history is extensive, having argued cases in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in U.S. District Courts, in Texas courts, as well as in the federal and Texas workers’ compensation arenas. While her experience includes a broad range of civil litigation topics–from personal injury and bad faith to commercial and maritime–she has chosen to focus on the defense of Defense Base Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, and Texas Workers’ Compensation Act, claims at her new firm.
Monica regularly lends her voice via industry presentations, publications, and in-house seminars. She serves on the planning committee for industry conferences including the Annual Longshore Conference and the Defense Base Act East Coast Symposium. Monica previously served several terms on the Board of Directors of the DOL-Joint Bar Association and was the President of that organization. She currently serves on the Advisory Boards for the Benefits Review Board Service and Equal Justice America.
Monica earned her degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (J.D. 1993, B.A. 1990). She is licensed to practice in Texas (1993) and Montana (2025) as well as before United States Courts of Appeals (Fifth, Ninth, and Eleventh, Circuits) and United States District Courts (Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western, Districts of Texas).
Monica became Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as part of the initial Workers’ Compensation Law class in 2004, then was recertified per TBLS’s five-year cycle in 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024. She is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Monica mentors attorneys into strategic advocates and wise business leaders.
